DiskPulse is a small disk monitoring tool. There is also a Pro version which has a lot more options for disk monitoring (monitoring rules/criteria, create CSV, TXT and HTML reports, run custom commands), but I guess this free version does a pretty good job on a basic level. 

You can use DiskPulse to monitor folders or entire drives/partitions for any changes occurred to the data stored there. You can detect file system changes in real-time, so you can be aware of everything that's been modified on your computer drives such as: file names, size, attributes, creation time, security and so on. 

The program is very easy to use due to its appealing interface. In order to make it even easier to use, you can create and save custom profiles for different monitoring jobs. 

Pluses: 

Drawbacks / flaws: Since reporting is only available in the 'Pro' version, a 'search' functionality would have been nice to have, since monitoring can result in a list with millions of lines. 

In conclusion: This small data monitoring tool is basically a teaser for the 'Pro' version and it is suitable for beginners or anyone who wishes to monitor data changes at a basic level.
